San Francisco 49ers: 5 dream picks in 2020 NFL Draft
By Peter Panacy
Most top 49ers consensuses on their top NFL Draft pick circle around a wide receiver, and it’s looking as if Alabama’s Jerry Jeudy is the premier wideout in a tremendously deep receiving class.
Jeudy is one of three wide receivers who could be around by the No. 13 overall pick, joining his Alabama teammate, Henry Ruggs III, as well as Oklahoma’s CeeDee Lamb. Yet Jeudy seems to be the whole package, possessing more playmaking skill than Lamb and physicality than Ruggs.
Needless to say, Jeudy was a heavy piece of discussion during Niner Noise’s chat with KNBR 680’s John Lund and Greg Papa:
The problem, though, is both the New York Jets (No. 11 overall) and Las Vegas Raiders (No. 12 overall) are poised to select ahead of San Francisco. It’s highly possible the Jets and Raiders wind up grabbing the best two of those three prospects, potentially leaving Ruggs as the remaining option.
Ruggs wouldn’t be bad at all, and some would likely prefer him above the other two wideouts.
But Jeudy somehow falling past New York and Las Vegas would be a pipe dream.
Speaking of dreams, there’s a very real chance that happens, if the Jets and Raiders prefer someone like Lamb and Ruggs instead, or if they go with another positional need.
