The San Francisco 49ers appear locked into their offseason roster for now. But with the 2020 NFL Draft approaching, Niner Noise looks at players who could be traded during the three-day event.

As expected, the San Francisco 49ers weren’t major players in free agency and focused either on re-signing some of their big-name pending free agents or adding some complementary pieces to bolster the depth and add some competition this offseason.

The big move, of course, was a trade between the Niners and Indianapolis Colts: sending away 2018 Pro Bowl defensive tackle DeForest Buckner in exchange for the No. 13 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Trades have been part of general manager John Lynch’s arsenal of options dating back to him taking over the duties in 2017. Last year was another example, as San Francisco traded for EDGE Dee Ford and wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders with the Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos, respectively.

Heading into the 2020 draft, however, Lynch and Co. will likely want to add draft capital, not spend it in order to acquire more-expensive NFL-level talent.

There are some players Lynch and head coach Kyle Shanahan may consider moving during the draft itself, too, perhaps as a means to move up in the draft order in any particular round or to potentially stockpile some of the team’s selections on days two and/or three of the draft itself.

And considering the 49ers own zero picks in Rounds 2, 3 and 4, currently, it might be a move to make. Especially noting some of the exceptional depth at positions of need, such as wide receiver and cornerback.

Here are three players San Francisco could consider moving during the draft to help accomplish this would-be objective.
