2020 NFL Draft: 32-pick Round 1 mock with 49ers selecting twice
By Peter Panacy
The defending Super Bowl champions, the Kansas City Chiefs, would have also been more than happy to see Xavier McKinney fall to them with the final pick in Round 1 of the NFL Draft.
Even if the Chiefs don’t have pressing needs at safety, they could use a nickel cornerback. Especially after losing defensive back Kendall Fuller to the Redskins in free agency.

If anything, Kansas City’s secondary should still be seen as the No. 1 priority this offseason. It wouldn’t be a shock to see multiple corners go to K.C. in this draft, starting off with Clemson’s A.J. Terrell.
Yes, Terrell was abused by LSU during the national championship game. Aside from that, though, the 6-foot-1, 190-pound cornerback has put together an impressive résumé up until that point.
Terrell is solid in a variety of coverages, too, showing an ability to thrive in press man, zone and playing against the run. While there will be questions about his efforts versus LSU, there’s little doubting Terrell projects to be a good quality starter at the pro level.
The 2020 NFL Draft kicks off on Thursday, April 23.
