2020 NFL Draft: 32-pick Round 1 mock with 49ers selecting twice
By Peter Panacy
For the first time in what seems like forever, Broncos general manager John Elway seems to have his answer at quarterback, Drew Lock.
After sending off Emmanuel Sanders to the 49ers, Elway’s top priority in the NFL Draft should be finding someone to replace the veteran and make fellow wideout Courtland Sutton all the more potent with additional help elsewhere on the field.
Fortunately at No. 15 overall, LSU wide receiver Justin Jefferson checks off all the boxes and then some.
At 6-foot-3 and 192 pounds, Jefferson has all the tools to be a premier No. 1 wide receiver at the NFL level. He’s tall, fluid in his route running, has great separation skills and can make the best cornerbacks look bad in coverage. Better yet, he’s versatile and can play both on the boundary and out of the slot, making for even more nightmare matchups against opposing defenses.
Denver’s offensive line still needs some work, yes. But this is a situation where passing up on a player with Jefferson’s talents would be impossible to do.
