2020 NFL Draft: 32-pick Round 1 mock with 49ers selecting twice
By Peter Panacy
The Jacksonville Jaguars need to rebuild their defense in this year’s NFL Draft, and probably next year’s, too.
Finding some help in the secondary should help alleviate the losses of cornerbacks Jalen Ramsey and A.J. Bouye, but considering how deep this year’s class is at cornerback, one would assume Jacksonville elects to postpone the back-end needs until later.
And again, good teams build through the trenches. Notice a trend here?
The Jags placed the franchise tag on defensive lineman Yannick Ngakoue already, and he has since requested a trade. Recent reports suggest there’s no news on the Ngakoue trade front, though, so one has to figure Jacksonville would like to find his long-term replacement amid the defensive rebuild.
Few fit the bill better than Auburn defensive tackle Derrick Brown, who has tremendous power, athleticism and playmaking skill.
Getting him at No. 9 overall would be great value, too.
