No. 2: George Kittle will still struggle to catch touchdowns

George Kittle is not what you would call a slouch by any means when it comes to touchdowns, but his impressive pair of seasons in 2018 and 2019 saw him catch only five touchdowns in each season.

It’s not hard to see why. Kittle is heavily targeted as one of the 49ers’ most talented players, and in the red zone, there is only so much space for Kittle to run to.

As a result, this takes away one of his best strengths in finding open space. Five touchdowns are nothing to be unhappy about, but other players are usually the beneficiaries when the 49ers get to the end of the field.

Unfortunately for Kittle, he’s still sure to be targeted in the end zone by defenses and will continue to struggle as a result.

Kittle may be able to break his season record of five touchdowns, but probably not by much.
