No. 1: Chicago Bears

While the Odell Beckham-to-San Francisco deal sounds enticing, it wouldn’t be shocking to see the Browns hold serve for at least one more season, new head coach and all.

But a team likely willing to make some serious shakeups this offseason is the Chicago Bears, who were also mentioned in Albert Breer’s breakdown:

"Keep an eye on the Bears looking to augment their roster with a trade over the next couple months. Their cap situation will make it tough to be too active on the free agent market, but if there are players late in their rookie contracts made available, that’s one place where GM Ryan Pace could creatively improve what remains a win-now roster."

One player who could be replaced sooner than later is underperforming quarterback Mitchell Trubisky, who clearly will never live up to being the No. 2 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. With a solid roster elsewhere and a decent quarterback draft class, the Bears could look to this offseason to make their move.

The problem, though, is Chicago is also without a first-round pick, meaning it’ll have to either wait until the No. 43 overall pick in the draft (from the Las Vegas Raiders) and gamble on a day-two quarterback or trade up.

Let’s say, to No. 31 overall.

The 49ers could easily ask for both of the Bears’ second-round picks, the other being No. 50 overall.

That would likely be enough ammunition for Chicago to get into the back end of Round 1 and have a much better chance of grabbing a first-round quarterback slipping on day one than by hoping someone falls into the middle stages of Round 2.
