2020 NFL Combine: 5 wide receivers who should impress 49ers
By Peter Panacy
The 49ers already met with the top prospect on this list, TCU wide receiver Jalen Reagor. And our friends over at NFL Mocks also tabbed Reagor to the Niners at No. 31 overall, too.
So there has to be mutual interest, right? After all, a player like Reagor should thrive in Kyle Shanahan’s system.

Reagor’s 2019 stats were limited by some offensive inconsistencies last season, but he was a 1,000-yard receiver in 2018. So the production was there. And the 5-foot-11, 206-pound pass catcher has all the traits to emerge as a starter, either on the boundary or out of the slot, from day one.
So, how about his NFL Scouting Combine numbers?
Reagor did well enough in the bench press, putting up 17 reps. And his 42-inch vertical leap was among leaders, too.
But what will stand out is Reagor’s unofficial 4.47 40-yard time. That number isn’t totally conclusive of his speed, but it’s indicative that his straight-line efforts can beat a number of slower defensive backs. What makes Reagor stand out, even more, is his route-running abilities and footwork, which are among the best in this year’s receiving class.
A weapon like Reagor would be hard for the 49ers to pass up, should he fall to No. 31 overall in the NFL Draft.
