With the offseason now in full swing, it’s never too early to look past free agency, the combine and the NFL Draft to make some 2020 predictions. Let’s look at some San Francisco 49ers who could find themselves named among the NFL’s elite for the upcoming season.

The offseason is a busy time for all NFL teams, the San Francisco 49ers among them. But sometimes it’s fun to skip past all the hoopla of the February through August period and go straight to the end of the 2020 season.

In doing so, let’s take a look at some Niners players who could be named as first-team All-Pros for the upcoming year.

When considering something like All-Pro teams, there is obviously a great deal of subjectivity that comes in play. The voters may not have the opportunity to see every game of the NFL season and may have to use statistics, which don’t tell the entire story of a player’s season or simply vote based on what they hear or on a player’s history.

All that to say, predicting the direction that an All-Pro team will actually go is probably a fool’s errand, but it’s still fun to look into the future and see what members of the 2020 49ers team might have strong enough seasons to make the first team.

Last season, the 49ers had one player, tight end George Kittle, to make the first team, while defensive tackle DeForest Buckner and cornerback Richard Sherman made the second team.

Not surprisingly, the 49ers defense was represented most on either team and when thinking about who could represent the Niners on the first team in 2020, it makes a lot of sense to start on that side of the ball.
