3 49ers players who could win NFL MVP award in 2020
The San Francisco 49ers shocked fans with an outstanding 2019 season that landed them in Super Bowl LIV. Could we see a future NFL MVP come out of San Francisco?
2019 was an exceptional year for the San Francisco 49ers. The much-improved team showcased a young, talented core that looks to maintain continued success.
A 13-3 record and first-place NFC finish were only good enough to produce one player who won an AP NFL award. Edge rusher Nick Bosa took home Defensive Rookie of the Year honors.
Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo and head coach Kyle Shanahan were notable snubs for Comeback Player of the Year and Head Coach of the Year honors, respectively.
At least tight end George Kittle was a first-team All-Pro selection, helping alleviate some of the snubs elsewhere on the roster.
A second consecutive season with a healthy Jimmy G should produce a more effective offense in 2020. Shanahan can begin to unleash his full arsenal of play-calls with another full offseason of working with his franchise quarterback. This, in turn, should carry over to the rest of the offense, propelling a number of other players on that side of the ball to see some increased numbers, too.
And as long as the Niners’ top-tier defense remains stout in 2020, one can figure there could be some major standouts from this side of the ball as well. Improved statistical seasons for the 49ers can be expected as long as health permits.
The Niners have a talented group of players who can make a run for the NFL MVP in 2020 under an outstanding coaching staff.
Read on to see who Niner Noise believes can bring an MVP trophy to San Francisco next season.
