No. 3: Antonio Hamilton

2019 Team: New York Giants

The 49ers attempted one reclamation project in 2019 with former Los Angeles Chargers cornerback Jason Verrett.

That didn’t quite work out, though, but it suggests the Niners would be willing to take on a flier elsewhere.

New York Giants cornerback Antonio Hamilton could be a name to watch. At 27 years old, Hamilton still has a long way to go before age becomes a factor. And while he has spent the majority of his career as a reserve and special teams contributor, it’s hard to overlook the fact he made the most out of his limited opportunities last season, registering four pass breakups on just 133 defensive snaps.

Hamilton, 6-foot-0 and 190 pounds, has the size to provide some adequate physical thump on the boundary.

And considering he cost just $1 million against the Giants cap number a year ago, the Niners would likely be able to lure him in on the cheap.
