No. 3: A Crackle for a Defensive Tackle

As far as the 49ers defensive line goes, there are a plethora of players who have All-Pro caliber talent. But when defensive tackle D.J. Jones was sidelined with an injury late last season, not one replacement solidified himself as a solid rotation piece in Jones’ place.

Defensive tackle Tyeler Davison would provide a great addition to the 49ers defensive line. In 16 games last season for the Atlanta Falcons, he recorded 55 tackles (26 solo), 1.0 sacks, two quarterback hits and four tackles for a loss.

He would be a low-risk, high-reward type player for the 49ers in free agency.

Going with a player like Davison would allow San Francisco to part ways with another pending free agent, Sheldon Day, who was among those reserves behind Jones.

Davison could end up being cheaper than Day, while also potentially being a good enough upgrade, too.
