Predicting which pending free agents 49ers re-sign in 2020

Defensive Tackle Sheldon Day
Like Damontre Moore, defensive tackle Sheldon Day offers a quality backup option, albeit the latter saw plenty more action down the stretch. Especially after D.J. Jones went down with his injury.
In total, Day saw action in all 16 regular-season games, regularly emerging as part of the rotation all the way into the Super Bowl. During that time frame, Day recorded 15 tackles and a sack, often locking up the interior of the line and closing off run lanes — efforts which don’t always show up on the stat sheet.
But the issue is the 49ers already have a number of interior depth pieces, including players like Kentavius Street and Jullian Taylor, the former likely being the player the Niners envision as a long-term replacement.
Day would likely be a cheap option. Yet one figures San Francisco would want to go with even more of a youth movement instead.
