If you thought the Tennessee Titans had a phenomenal running game, the San Francisco 49ers’ ground attack is every bit as dangerous.

The San Francisco 49ers punched their ticket to Super Bowl LIV by winning the NFC over the Green Bay Packers in a blowout. San Francisco reaches its seventh Super Bowl in franchise history and may earn Lombardi Trophy No. 6 because they have the more complete team over the Kansas City Chiefs. They have a running back stable that is more dangerous than the Tennessee Titans.

On this week’s episode of Stacking the Box, FanSided‘s Josh Hill and Mark Carman, along with former NFL offensive lineman Geoff Schwartz, ask themselves if the Chiefs are ready for what might be a more dangerous rushing attack in the 49ers than what Kansas City went up against in the AFC Championship vs. Tennessee.

Hill is in on this because of the 49ers’ depth at the position. Even though Tevin Coleman had to leave the game with a shoulder injury, all that did was give us the game of Raheem Mostert’s life. He ran all over the Packers defense to the point where FOX’s Terry Bradshaw finally learned the guy’s name during the post-game celebration at Levi’s Stadium.

Schwartz agrees with the 49ers having a more dangerous rushing attack over the Titans as well. He likes how multiple the 49ers are in the ground game. They get production out of all their backs, including Pro Bowl fullback Kyle Juszczyk. The zone-blocking scheme is working wonders now that Kyle Shanahan is in his third season as the head coach of the 49ers.

Kansas City might have been able to slow down Titans bell-cow back Derrick Henry in the AFC Championship, but keeping the entire running back corps contained in San Francisco will not be easy. Mostert may not rush for over 200 yards again in the Super Bowl, but his breakout performance was no fluke. He was excellent all year. The rest of America wasn’t paying attention.

As for the 49ers’ chances to win Super Bowl LIV over the Chiefs, San Francisco has to like its chances. Though they might be a three-point underdog, San Francisco has shown it has the most complete team in football. These teams are evenly matched, but there is certainly a pathway for the 49ers to win their sixth Super Bowl down in Miami in two weeks.

Here are a few other topics discussed on this week’s episode of Stacking the Box:

  • 49ers are more well-rounded than Chiefs – 7:47
  • Schwartz: The Jimmy G hate is unfair – 8:25
  • Kyle Shanahan vs. Andy Reid will be offensive fireworks – 17:33
  • Will 49ers sack Patrick Mahomes more than 2 times? – 33:25

All this and more!
