Two of the most storied franchises in NFL history will meet to determine the champion of the NFC. Niner Noise breaks down the three Green Bay Packers players the San Francisco 49ers must stop in order to secure the team’s seventh Super Bowl berth.

For the 16th time in their history, the San Francisco 49ers are headed to the NFC Championship Game. This Sunday, they will face off against the Green Bay Packers, with the winner going on to Miami to face the winner of the AFC title game earlier that day.

This marks the eighth time that the 49ers and  Packers have met in the playoffs, and their second Championship game overall. Green Bay owned San Francisco when the teams were facing off during the 1990s, sans The Catch II.

The Packers were able to maintain some form of dominance as we entered the 2000s. They were, of course, able to field two Hall of Fame level quarterbacks in Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers.

The teams would meet yet again in the 2013 and 2014 postseasons, with the 49ers winning both contests. Those teams were led by the same type of suffocating defense as these current Niners, and the 2019 offense is much more loaded than it was just seven years ago.

With the No. 1 and No. 2  seeds in the NFC facing off this weekend, the 49ers and Packers boast some of the best players in football. As such, both teams are facing key matchups with players they will have to keep under wraps if they are to emerge victoriously.

Here we look at the three Packers players whom the 49ers will need to stop in order to punch their seventh Super Bowl ticket.
