No. 4: Wide Receiver Kendrick Bourne

He wasn’t the leading San Francisco 49ers receiver on Saturday, but wide receiver Kendrick Bourne makes the list after two notable plays, which ultimately led to the Niners’ offensive output.

The stat sheet alone says Bourne had a good game, hauling in three catches for 40 yards and a touchdown. Speaking of that touchdown: It was the score that  got the Niners on the board first, as Bourne hauled in a 3-yard pass from Jimmy Garoppolo on the team’s opening drive.

Bourne has been a red-zone threat for much of his career, and the score marked the sixth red-zone touchdown that the third-year pro has pulled down this season, including Weeks 1 through 17.

But Bourne also had a key first-down grab on Third-and-6, and his almost-improvised catch to bail out a wobbly pass from Garoppolo was even more impressive:

Bourne did have a drop in the game, but his catches more than made up for it. Especially being in key situations when the 49ers were either looking to score, or at least move the chains.
