Round 3. JALEN HURD. I. . Wide Receiver

The 49ers went back to back with wide receivers in Rounds 2 and 3, grabbing raw-but-promising wide receiver Jalen Hurd out of Baylor.

Hurd, who had previously converted from running back, flashed some intriguing moments during the preseason before suffering a back injury which landed him on injured reserve, essentially redshirting his first year at the pro level.

Still, the 6-foot-4, 227 pounder has the body type of a slightly undersized tight end, and one can figure how Kyle Shanahan envisions using him as a mismatch nightmare in coming season.

Until then, though, Hurd’s grade remains incomplete.
