It’s hard to believe the San Francisco 49ers are embarking on a new decade after an up-and-down 2010 through 2019. The past 10 years have given fans a bit of everything: highs of making the Super Bowl to lows of a two-win season. But who was the best team in the decade? Niner Noise power ranks each squad from 2010-2019.

Looking back through the past 10 years, it’s amazing to see how this San Francisco 49ers team has changed. From head coaches like Mike Singletary and Jim Tomsula, to Jim Harbaugh and now Kyle Shanahan, the Niners have chalked up 79 wins, 78 losses and one tie from 2010 through 2019

The Niners Faithful have been near the top of the mountain, with a Super Bowl appearance, to rock bottom when the team only won two games.

Former 49ers quarterback Alex Smith was struggling in his time in red and gold, but with the help of Harbaugh, he started to find his form. Smith was then replaced by quarterback Colin Kaepernick in the 2012 season, and both helped lead the 49ers to their first Super Bowl appearance since winning it all in 1995.

Fan-favorite running back, Frank Gore, rumbled through the defenses the first five years of the decade before being replaced by running back Carlos Hyde. Speaking of fan favorites, tight end Vernon Davis wrapped up his tenure in 2015 with the 49ers, and linebacker Patrick Willis retired with the only team he’d ever known.

Now, there is a new group of stars. Tight end George Kittle is making more fans each and every week. Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo is showing the next decade, or so, will be worth sticking around for.

And rookie wide receiver Deebo Samuel is showing signs of being the next Jerry Rice. OK, at least hopefully somewhere close.

Despite all these great players, the 49ers only made the playoffs four times (2011, 2012, 2013, 2019) and had true winning records four times (2011, 2012, 2013, 2019), with one season of 8-8 (2014.)

This brings up the question: Who is the best team of the decade? Will it be the team which reached the Super Bowl? Or could the 2019 version of the San Francisco 49ers, who’s chapter isn’t finished just yet?
