No. 5: Tackle Mike McGlinchey

2018 NFL Draft

Round 1, Pick No. 9

49ers tackle Mike McGlinchey has been the stability the team has needed on the right side of the line for years. McGlinchey has only missed four games in his young career and has protected the offense well in every game he has been in there.

PFF awarded him a rating of 66.8 before Week 17, which was second best on the team’s offensive line to Joe Staley. The Niners averaged the second-most rushing yards per game in the NFL, and McGlinchey at the right side of the O-line is a big reason for that.

With Staley at the tail end of his career, it is almost time for McGlinchey to take over as the anchor of the line in the not-so-distant future.

He is well on his way to doing so.
