Ranking 49ers 10 best NFL Draft picks of the decade
With the decade coming to a close, what better time to rate the 49ers’ best NFL Draft picks from the previous 10 years. Niner Noise examines the best 10 picks that the team has made since 2010.
The San Francisco 49ers have had some great years throughout the 2010s, including a Super Bowl appearance in 2013, numerous playoff trips and some memorable plays over the course of the decade.
They have also had some not so good years, like 2015 through 2017, when the team finished in last place in the NFC West each season.
Wrapped up into all of this is how the team has drafted. The Niners have certainly drafted a number of busts throughout the decade. Remember linebacker Reuben Foster in the first round of 2017? How about wide receiver A.J. Jenkins back in 2012?
Don’t feel too bad, though, Niners fans. Examine any team close enough, and you are sure to find some less-than-ideal draft picks.
Throughout the decade, the 49ers have had two general managers: Trent Baalke called the shots on draft day from 2010 to 2016, while John Lynch took over in 2017 and is with the team currently.
Both GMs have picked some great players over the decade that have far exceeded their draft-day value, and that’s what we’ll look at here as we break down the 10 best over the course of the decade.
Read on to see what Niner Noise believes to be the best draft picks the 49ers have made since 2010.
