Rams vs. 49ers: Week 16 by the Numbers

For most of the 2018 season, the Rams were steamrolling opponents and rode that momentum all the way to a trip to Super Bowl LIII, eventually losing to the New England Patriots.

This year, however, Los Angeles’ offense isn’t clicking anywhere near the levels is enjoyed a season ago. Just check out the numbers and rankings:

Rams 2019 Offensive Numbers

  • Points Scored: 332 (13th)
  • Yards Gained: 5,179 (12th)
  • Pass Yards: 3,865 (sixth)
  • Pass Yards per Attempt: 6.9 (12th)
  • Rush Yards: 1,314 (24th)
  • Rush Yards per Attempt: 3.8 (25th)
  • Turnovers: 23 (22nd)

Los Angeles has also been in the middle of the road, defensively, this season. But outside of the two 40-plus point games against the Cowboys and Baltimore Ravens in Weeks 15 and 12, respectively, the Rams have allowed an average of 10.8 points per game since their Week 9 bye.

The 49ers, meanwhile, still boast the No. 2 best scoring offense and have seen a drastic uptick in their passing game in recent weeks, too, which have produced an average of 7.2 yards per pass attempt — good for fourth best.

And while it has been a bit vulnerable as of late, San Francisco still owns the No. 5 scoring defense in the league, too.
