The San Francisco 49ers travel to Baltimore to take on Lamar Jackson and the Ravens in a Week 13 showdown. After the Ravens 45-6 beatdown of the Los Angeles Rams, Niner Noise examines a few lessons the Niners hopefully learned for their upcoming bout.

It goes without saying, when facing a scrambling quarterback, there’s going to be added pressure on even the most elite defenses.

The San Francisco 49ers know this firsthand. as they’ve gone up against Arizona Cardinals rookie quarterback Kyler Murray twice, and the Seattle Seahawks’ Russell Wilson once this season. In all three games, the Niners defense did not dominate as it has in games against traditional pocket passers.

Up next, the 49ers will travel to Baltimore to take on quarterback Lamar Jackson and the 9-2 Ravens in a Week 13 showdown. After the Ravens’ 45-6 beat down of the Los Angeles Rams on Monday Night Football, Niner Noise examines a few takeaways and lessons from the game which will hopefully assist San Francisco in better preparing for the game next week.

Jackson was electrifying in prime time against the Rams. It’s possible to look at one of any number of stats, including his five touchdown passes, nearly 100 rush yards or a 139.4 passer rating. These efforts are a mere reflection of the kind of explosiveness Jackson has had over the course of the year.

And he’ll likely take home the league MVP award as a result.

But Jackson isn’t just putting up highlight reels and massive numbers. His play is affecting everything else Baltimore has done in its red-hot season, and those are the lessons the 49ers need to identify and prepare for when they get ready to travel this Sunday.
