The San Francisco 49ers host the Green Bay Packers for a prime-time Sunday Night Football bout in Week 12, and Niner Noise breaks down some pertinent game information for this critical matchup for both squads.

The Sunday Night Football clash between the San Francisco 49ers and visiting Green Bay Packers in Week 12 could ultimately decide who owns the top seed in the NFC when the regular season comes to a close in a few weeks.

The 9-1 Niners currently own the No. 1 seed in the conference. But at 8-2, the Packers are merely a game behind in the standings and have the No. 2 seed in hand. Should Green Bay win, it would assume the top spot.

And depending on what happens across the rest of the league, the 49ers could drop all the way to the fifth seed after just one game.

San Francisco is coming off a desperate come-from-behind win over the Arizona Cardinals last week, while the Packers enjoyed a Week 11 bye. It will be interesting to see how much the added week of rest and preparation assists Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers and Co. who suffered an embarrassing 26-11 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers when they were last in California back in Week 9.

Packers vs. 49ers: Betting Odds and Lines

The Niners are embarking on arguably their toughest stretch of games this season, playing three consecutive games against two-loss teams: the Packers, Baltimore Ravens and New Orleans Saints, with the latter two on the road.

Home-field advantage likely is giving San Francisco the odds edge in this contest, as the Action Network has the 49ers as three-point favorites. And in a game featuring two of the better-known quarterbacks in the league, the over/under line is a provocative 47.5 with the majority of money hitting the over.

Week 12 Weather Predictions

Unlike the rest of the country, October and November can be relatively warm in Northern California, and that looks to be the case at Levi’s Stadium on Sunday.

Weather predictions call for 65 degrees at kickoff, humidity of 42 percent with 5 miles-per-hour northwesterly winds.

49ers Key Injuries

San Francisco might get tight end George Kittle (knee/ankle), wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders (ribs) and wide receiver Deebo Samuel (shoulder) back for Week 12, according to a report from NBC Sports Bay Area’s Matt Maiocco.

Left tackle Joe Staley (finger) is still out for another week, while EDGE Dee Ford is set to miss a couple of weeks with a hamstring injury. Kicker Robbie Gould is also dealing with a quad injury, and his availability is questionable. Running back Matt Breida also appears doubtful with an ankle injury.

Packers Key Injuries

Wide receiver Davante Adams was limited in practice this week with a toe injury, while linebacker Blake Martinez practiced fully despite a hand issue.

Aaron Rodgers vs. Jimmy Garoppolo

It’s crazy to think Rodgers will be starting his 169th career game, while 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo has just 20 NFL starts under his belt.

The two quarterbacks have relatively similar stat lines this season. Rodgers is completing 64.8 percent of his passes, while Garoppolo is at 68.8 percent. Rodgers’ passer rating is slightly higher at 102.7, while Garoppolo’s is 97.7.

Garoppolo does have 18 touchdown passes to Rodgers’ 17, but the former also has tossed 10 interceptions on the year, while Rodgers has just two.

The last stat could be the ultimate deciding factor between these two squads.

Next. 3 areas Jimmy Garoppolo must improve in over remainder of 2019. dark

The Niners and Packers kick off on Sunday Night Football on Nov. 24 at 8:20 p.m. ET from Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
