Implications

They say it’s lonely at the top.

It would be nice to stay lonely with a win in Week 10, but the Niners would slip to No. 2 behind the Patriots, should the Seahawks pull off the upset on Monday night.

The Niners are also No. 1 in the NFC West and would stay that way even with a loss this week. The more concerning issue here is that this is only the first meeting with the Seahawks this year, and the second one comes in Week 16 in Seattle.

I’m far from saying the Niners can’t win their final game on the road. Again, this is a completely different team, but so are the Seahawks. What gives me hope about that game is seeing the way the lowly Cincinnati Bengals and bottom-10 Tampa Bay Buccaneers handled the Seahawks in Seattle.

If such teams can give them a solid scare on their home turf, the 49ers’ chances are above average.

But just in case, it would be so rewarding not having to worry about that all the way here in Week 10. Let’s just hope the Niners stay the course and show the world they are absolutely legit this season.

Here’s how you can tune in.
