No. 3: Jimmy Garoppolo vs. Seahawks passing defense

After half a season of analysts and doubters questioning how really good he was, we can say, conclusively, quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo can indeed throw a football very well.

Some will point out it was on a poor Cardinals defense, but it isn’t exactly the “Legion of Boom” he’s going to be facing against either.

Indeed, this is not your standard head coach Pete Carroll football team. Defense is not the name of the game here.

While Garoppolo has enjoyed his new toy in wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders, he may be blanketed by defensive back Shaquill Griffin on this game. While Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson was not able to stop the connection, he hasn’t been very good this year either.

This game will be the toughest matchup Sanders has had since joining San Francisco.

Luckily, tight end George Kittle has a much better matchup on the Seahawks, and Garoppolo should be able to get to his favorite target in this game.

Now that the Niners are welcoming back their injured players on the offense, they should be able to lift the lid on the playbook. Look for that to begin against Seattle.
