If either Andrew Thomas or Tristan Wirfs falls to the Cleveland Browns at No. 8, that’s the route general manager John Dorsey will go.

After all, Dorsey was adamant about trying to trade with the Redskins for disgruntled tackle Trent Williams for almost the entirety of the 2019 first half.

Cleveland has plenty of mid-round NFL Draft picks, though, so one would expect Dorsey to reinforce up front in the later rounds. Meanwhile, one of the better ideas would be to upgrade the second level of the defense, grabbing Clemson linebacker Isaiah Simmons.

Simmons would do a lot of things for the Browns, who’ll be forced to chase down Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson for the next number of years. The defensive front is solid, and the secondary is promising enough, too.

Getting stronger in the middle tier would help immensely.
