2020 NFL Draft: 32-pick Round 1 mock halfway through 2019 season
By Peter Panacy
The 2020 offseason will be oh-so interesting for the Cowboys, who’ll have more than a handful of questions facing them in free agency.
There are three key players with open contracts this offseason, including quarterback Dak Prescott, wide receiver Amari Cooper and cornerback Byron Jones. It seems almost impossible for Dallas to let Prescott and Cooper walk, making Jones a likely free agent this offseason.
But one might expect the Cowboys to try and get stronger up front, particularly in the center of their defense.
The team made a move for veteran defensive lineman Michael Bennett at the NFL trade deadline, but he’s only a stopgap option.
To find an anchor piece, Dallas lures in South Carolina defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw.
Kinlaw needs some pass-rushing variety. But he’s violent and effective if he gets beyond his blocker.
