No. 4: Kwon Alexander’s injury potentially hurts
As of writing, linebacker Kwon Alexander seems to have a good chance of not missing significant time, as per Matt Maiocco:
The #49ers have some level of optimism concerning LB Kwon Alexander’s chest injury. It was not diagnosed immediately as a torn pec, which would be a season-ending injury. He will undergo MRI on Friday to determine the extent of the damage. He appears to have good range of motion.

This was also backed up by Jennifer Lee Chan, who reported Alexander to be in great spirits:
Positive news is that Alexander was not wearing a sling and was moving around his locker area like normal.

When I asked him how he was feeling he said: “Legendary“ https://t.co/ggcTpkLXqB
If Alexander does have a torn pectoral, his season will surely be over. His sideline to sideline speed is as important to the 49ers defense as their vaunted defensive line, and the defense would be seriously downgraded.
If he isn’t injured seriously, San Francisco dodges a bullet and the team can return to full health discounting the players on injured reserve.
If he is, the 49ers may be in serious trouble defensively.
Editor’s Update: Alexander suffered a torn pectoral muscle, and his 2019 season is now over.
