The San Francisco 49ers head to the nation’s capitol on Oct. 20, for a Week 7 matchup against the Washington Redskins. The Niners look to remain undefeated against a struggling Redskins team.

The San Francisco 49ers put their perfect 5-0 record on the line against the 1-5 Washington Redskins in Week 7. These two teams could not have gotten off to more of a different start this season.

The Niners own the best record in the entire NFC and sit atop their division. The Redskins are tied with the Atlanta Falcons for the worst record in the NFC and are at the bottom of their division, the NFC East.

Still, San Francisco cannot overlook this matchup if it wants to remain unbeaten on the year.

Despite the terrible start, the Redskins have some talented playmakers and a lot to prove to their new head coach, Bill Callahan. Callahan led Washington to its first win of the season last week against the Miami Dolphins, so one could argue the Redskins have a little bit of momentum on their side.

The 49ers are coming off a huge win against the division rival Los Angeles Rams. The defense shut down the high-powered Rams offense by giving up only seven points in the contest. The offense had an efficient day finding the end zone twice and scoring 20 points.

San Francisco’s defense has been absolutely dominant this season. It currently ranks second in both total yards and points given up per game. The New England Patriots rank first in both categories and are the only other undefeated team in the league.

The 49ers offense has been very good as well but has left fans wanting more. This unit been efficient and effective enough to consistently score points, however, it has yet to take that step into one of the elite NFL offenses.

What better time to take that step than against a Washington team which has allowed the fifth-most points in the league.

Read on as Niner Noise breaks down the 49ers’ offensive game plan for the Week 7 matchup against the Redskins.
