The Denver Broncos offense has been terrible over the first four weeks of 2019, and it wouldn’t be the worst idea for general manager John Lynch to find some weapons on this side of the ball early.

That said, it’s impossible to ignore head coach Vic Fangio’s pedigree as a defensive specialist. His defensive coordinator, Ed Donatell, has a background working with the secondary, too.

Besides, Denver already has some young offensive talent in quarterback Drew Lock, who’ll likely get his chance sometime in 2020, and running back Phillip Lindsay. There are a good deal of receiving threats, who’ll be available in Round 2 anyway.

It seems only natural the Broncos would target some secondary help. They already have two elite edge rushers, in Von Miller and Bradley Chubb. Going after a player like LSU safety Grant Delpit would be a wise move here.

Especially considering cornerback Chris Harris will hit free agency, meaning Denver could use a solid, up-and-coming defensive back to captain the back end of the defense.

Remember, LSU defensive backs have a great pedigree. The Broncos would be wise to dive into it early.
