Niner Noise’s Week 4 NFL power rankings shows how both the undefeated San Francisco 49ers and Buffalo Bills are staying hot, while a number of teams are crashing down.

It takes a few weeks for NFL power rankings to have a truly accurate reflection on how teams around the league are stacking up against each other. For the first week or two, there are always oddities and exceptions.

But with the first quarter of the 2019 season just around the corner, there have been more than a few surprises.

Especially the undefeated Buffalo Bills and San Francisco 49ers.

OK, teams like the Green Bay Packers, New England Patriots and Kansas City Chiefs aren’t surprising anyone with their perfect regular-season records so far. The Dallas Cowboys and Los Angeles Rams being 3-0 isn’t much of a shock, either.

But now, the league has to put both the Bills and Niners into the discussion.

A number of bottom-dwelling teams managed to find their first wins of the season, too. The Jacksonville Jaguars shook off some early rust, while the New York Giants somehow managed to hold on and upend the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

All three of those squads are still lingering towards the bottom of NFL power rankings heading into Week 4, but at least they’re slightly more interesting now.

If only the Miami Dolphins, New York Jets and Denver Broncos could say the same thing, as all three are still seeking their first win of the season.

And that win might be elusive for a while.

Niner Noise takes a look at where all 32 teams stand heading into Week 4 in our last NFL power rankings, which shows some stark contrasts compared to our rankings from last week.

Kicking things off with that bottom tier of teams.
