Two weeks into the 2019 regular season, the San Francisco 49ers are 2-0. Niner Noise gives five bold predictions for the team’s Week 3 matchup against the Steelers.

Not even the staunchest of San Francisco 49ers fans could have imagined the team would have begun this season with two straight wins on the road. Even if they could, they certainly would have been hard pressed to conjure up thoughts on just how the team would arrive at their 2-0 record.

Week 1 at Tampa Bay saw an offense that left much to be desired. It wasn’t so much that quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo and Co. had a horrible game. It was that they didn’t have a game which would be reflective of employing a $100 million quarterback.

The newly revamped and improved defense was the most significant reason the 49ers left Florida with a 31-17 win over the Buccaneers. The unit produced 14 points off of two interceptions for touchdowns from corners Richard Sherman and Ahkello Witherspoon

Week 2 in Cincinnati against the Bengals was the team’s second consecutive game in the Eastern time zone. That contest witnessed an explosion from the offense which ended up as the fifth-highest yardage total in team history. The defense again played amazingly, holding the Bengals to 25 yards rushing on 19 attempts, a 1.3 yard average per carry.

With a hobbled, but still potentially lethal Pittsburgh Steelers team coming to Santa Clara this Sunday, we give five bold predictions for the game as the Niners look to improve to 3-0.
