No. 2: CB K’Waun Williams

The best player on the Steelers offense is wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster. Smith-Schuster often plays as the primary slot receiver. Niners cornerback K’Waun Williams will have the task of lining up and covering the wideout a lot on Sunday.

Rudolph will certainly be looking for his most talented pass catcher in his first career start. If Williams can cover Smith-Schuster in man coverage, the Niners defense will be able to call more blitzes — something this unit hasn’t had to do much so far in 2019. But considering Pittsburgh’s offensive line is the best test yet for San Francisco’s pass rush, the defense might have to send extra rushers on Sunday.

Williams won’t be tasked with the challenge of shutting down the Steelers’ No. 1 receiver on every play.

But when his opportunity comes, he has to be able to make Smith-Schuster earn each of his catches.
