No. 4: WR Deebo Samuel

Rookie wide receiver Deebo Samuel had a breakout game last week against the Bengals. He caught five passes for 86 yards and a touchdown. He led the team in receiving yards during the contest.

Garoppolo seems to be gaining some chemistry and trust in the young receiver. Samuel had a knack for getting open against Cincinnati, and he looks to bring that elusiveness against Pittsburgh.

The 49ers are loaded with talent on offense, but yet to have a receiver step up and snatch the No. 1 role. Second-year receiver Dante Pettis was considered the first option coming into the year, however he has failed to live up to that role thus far.

Samuel has the talent to leapfrog both Pettis and the veteran, Marquise Goodwin, as Garoppolo’s No. 1 wide receiver weapon.

Samuel finds a way to get open from anywhere on the field. He can keep the chains moving against Pittsburgh in Week 3. He also proved to be an end-zone threat and looks to continue that success against the Steelers.
