The San Francisco 49ers may only be one game into 2019, but they’re already scouting the next wave of potential NFL Draft prospects for 2020. Here are five potential fits for the Niners from the college ranks.

For the San Francisco 49ers, and the other 31 teams in the NFL, work has started right away on the upcoming 2020 NFL Draft crop.

Scouting and then drafting is a year-long process, and the beginning of the college season allows teams to see upcoming stars in power programs beat up on cupcake teams (unless you’re Tennessee, sorry Vols fans).

Already, stocks are moving up and down for prospects, and teams are starting to compile their NFL Draft boards. And the biggest story is if anyone can knock off Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa as the top prospect of the class.

But the 49ers are not going to be looking for at a quarterback in the upcoming draft. Instead there are other draft needs for the team which could be upgraded.

It’s nearly impossible to predict who the Niners will consider at this stage. Prospects rise and fall every week, and we have no idea where they’ll be picking in the draft, and the free agency market could see positions of need filled beforehand.

But Niner Noise likes nothing, if not a challenge, so here are five players who could make perfect sense for San Francisco’s 2020 NFL Draft plans.
