49ers Week 1 Injury Report

San Francisco has been bit by the injury bug somewhat this preseason, although there’s good news heading into Week 1.

Rookie EDGE Nick Bosa (ankle) is expected back, according to defensive coordinator Robert Saleh (h/t The Athletic’s Matt Barrows). Veteran EDGE Dee Ford (knee) was a full participant in practice this week, too. Kyle Shanahan also told KNBR 680 defensive back Jimmie Ward (finger) had surgery and will likely miss Sunday’s game.

As for the rest of the 49ers’ Week 1 injury report, here you go:

One of the bigger question marks for this game could be the health of center Weston Richburg (knee), who was only recently activated from the physically unable-to-perform list late in the preseason.

Buccaneers defensive coordinator Todd Bowles is expected to dial up all kinds of overload blitzes on Sunday, putting more pressure on Richburg to read and react to the spots from where the pressure is coming.

Whether or not his knee is up for the challenge could be a crucial X-factor for San Francisco.

Speaking of those…
