Tennessee Titans. 21. team. 35. . . Previous:

The Tennessee Titans rise a couple of spots in our NFL power rankings, although that’s not necessarily due to anything spectacular they’ve done this preseason. Second-year head coach Mike Vrabel’s squad looked fairly shoddy early on against the Pittsburgh Steelers on the Sunday Night Football dress rehearsal in preseason Week 3, and Tennessee’s blocking for quarterback Marcus Mariota wasn’t good.

Mariota is going to be under a lot of pressure this season, of course, and the lack of offensive line prowess isn’t exactly reassuring.

Maybe this explains why Tennessee brought in former Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill during the offseason. It would be shocking this season if Vrabel made the switch for anything other than injury.

But the fact it’s a discussion is certainly interesting.

Perhaps Vrabel should continue banking on the hopes Tennesee will be a defense-first squad again in 2019. It’s not the worst idea, considering all that’s happening in the AFC South.
