NFL power rankings: Post-preseason 32-team breakdown before Week 1
By Peter Panacy
The Buffalo Bills are at an intriguing place just ahead of the regular season. And it’s not hard to understand why a lot of league experts are awfully bullish on head coach Sean McDermott’s squad.
Especially if second-year quarterback Josh Allen winds up being the bona fide stud many think he can be. It has been quite the climb since being considered one of the biggest reaches in the 2018 NFL Draft.
Allen’s success or failure will be a big part of Buffalo’s chances in 2019. He’ll look to get more out of wide receiver Zay Jones, as there are new faces in town this year. But if Allen winds up utilizing his big arm to the best of his abilities, Buffalo’s offense could be something to watch this year.
Especially if the ageless wonder, running back Frank Gore, continues to pile up yards on the ground.
McDermott’s team will be build around defense, though, which is especially crucial in what’s shaping up to be a challenging AFC East offense. That won’t make the Bills’ collective task an easy one.
