Practice Squad

Obviously, in order to make it to the 49ers practice squad, these players will have to be released and subject to waivers.

More from SF 49ers News

But based on training camp and preseason, here are a few players the team should consider bringing back if they can:

  • LB Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles
  • WR Malik Henry
  • OL Andrew Lauderdale
  • OL Ross Reynolds
  • RB Austin Walter
  • DL Jamell Garcia-Williams

They’ll need four others, provided these players make the squad, one of which would need to be a quarterback, which could be the Niners’ current fourth option, Wilton Speight.

If not, the team will have to scour the waiver wire looking for options.

Either way, there will be a far better idea what San Francisco’s 53-man roster will look like when final roster cuts are made by Saturday, Aug. 31 at 4 p.m. ET.
