Stock up: Damontre Moore

At this stage, it’s not a question of if defensive end Damontre Moore should make this roster, but how the 49ers are going to fit him into the roster, given the rich depth on the defensive line.

Moore has taken every possible opportunity given to him in the preseason, and this culminated in an impressive dress rehearsal where he notched two sacks against the Chiefs.

It’s even more impressive when you factor he actually sacked the quarterback three times, but two of those sacks were shared with another defender.

He recorded five tackles and four quarterback pressures, and was the top defender for the 49ers, according to Pro Football Focus, with a 89.4 grade.

A team can never have too many pass-rushers, the 49ers could easily rotate Moore in when the new starting duo of Nick Bosa and Dee Ford need rest.

At this stage, it would be an incredibly tough call to not reward Moore for being the best pass-rusher this preseason.
