Special Teams Grades

Kickers: A+

Punter Mitch Wishnowsky continues to exceed expectations. He punted twice, his long was 62 yards and pinned the Chiefs inside the 20-yard line in the second half.

Although Kansas City was able to score on what ended up being a 97-yard drive.

It’s good to have kicker Robbie Gould on the team. He nailed both of his field-goal attempts and all three of his point-after tries.

Returners: B

Nothing too special to talk about here. Deebo Samuel got an opportunity at returning a kickoff and netted a solid return of 26 yards. The only problem is he returned it from five yards in the end zone, so he would have been better off just taking a knee.

Dante Pettis also muffed a punt, although it didn’t cost the Niners anything as he was able to recover it quickly.

Still, that might eliminate him from serious contention as a specialist once the regular season rolls around.
