The San Francisco 49ers visited the Kansas City Chiefs for their third NFL preseason win. The team seems to be ready for when Week 1 of the regular season rolls around. Niner Noise breaks down grades and analysis for each position group from the game.

The San Francisco 49ers offensive starters played a much more satisfying game against the Kansas City Chiefs Saturday night compared to last week against the Denver Broncos, coming away with a 27-17 NFL preseason victory and moving to a perfect 3-0 during this exhibition phase.

All eyes were on quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo after his poor performance against the Broncos stout defense. Garoppolo was able to lead the team on three scoring drives against the Chiefs defense, though, which included one touchdown and two field goals.

The Niners defense played a solid game, considering it was going up against the high-powered Chiefs offense. San Francisco held the 2018 NFL MVP, quarterback Patrick Mahomes, to just one touchdown drive on three possessions.

Niners fans have to feel a lot more optimistic about the upcoming season after this game. Altogether, the team looks poised for Week 1 of the regular season. They went toe-to-toe with a Super Bowl contender in Kansas City.

The depth of the 49ers 2019 roster cannot be ignored. And San Francisco received some solid performances from other players deeper down the depth chart, both on the offensive and defensive sides of the ball.

Read on to see how each position group was graded from the Niners’ dress rehearsal for the regular season in Kansas City.
