No. 3: The Offensive Line Could Be a Liability

The 49ers offensive line could be the main weak link on this team. This unit has been beset by injuries yet again, after losing leading swing tackle Shon Coleman last week against Dallas.

To be fair, the line wasn’t a source of strength even before Coleman was lost for the season. Save for tackles Joe Staley and Mike McGlinchey, the 49ers offensive line is going to be a work in progress.

The team was also without other key pieces tonight. In addition to Coleman and right guard Mike Person, interior linemen Joshua Garnett and Weston Richburg also did not play.

It remains to be seen what the 49ers will do, if anything, in trying to get more help for this unit. If the line does in fact become the team’s most glaring weakness, Jimmy Garoppolo and the rest of the offense could be in for a long season.
