The San Francisco 49ers visited the Denver Broncos for their Week 2 NFL preseason contest. While there were many positives and negatives to derive from this game, here we focus on the top five takeaways.

After the San Francisco 49ers dispatched the Dallas Cowboys in their Week 1 NFL preseason matchup, the team traveled to Denver to take on the Broncos in Week 2 of the 2019 preseason. In a perfect world, this game would have been the last before kicking off the regular season against the Buccaneers in Tampa Bay.

Sadly, this is not a perfect world. And as such, this game marked only the halfway point of the 2019 preseason. Upon arriving here at this point, the 49ers are now 2-0 as they continue to gear up for the games that actually count and following a 24-15 exhibition victory over the Broncos at Broncos Stadium at Mile High on Monday Night Football.

Truth be told, this might be a more perfect world than we thought, as the 49ers are using this time to get numerous players off of their respective injury lists.

Hit with a multitude of injuries in 2018, it could be argued the team is snake-bitten once again, with more players recovering from ailments than head coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch would like.

That being said, the 49ers are continuing to show in year three of the new regime that, while far from complete, they are a more balanced team than the one Shanahan and Lynch took over in 2017. The current team provided us with more than enough to discuss after Week 2 of the NFL preseason.

Here are the top five takeaways fans should know.
