As the San Francisco 49ers reported to training camp last week, the focus appears to be on winning a Super Bowl sooner than later. Here we’ll take a look at the top 10 players in 2019 who can help make that happen.

The San Francisco 49ers seem to be on the cusp of something great after not making the playoffs since 2013. At the end of last season, one had to look much harder for a silver lining like the ones that existed when the 2017 season came to an end.

Head coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch went to great lengths to address the areas of need which they deemed the most important this offseason. Trading for EDGE Dee Ford, drafting EDGE Nick Bosa at No. 2 overall and signing linebacker Kwon Alexander to a free-agent contract, were just a few a the moves the team made on defense after the new league year began last March.

The 49ers would have been remiss had they not also addressed a receiving corps that was in great need of a talent infusion. As such, the powers that be selected two wideouts in the second and third rounds of this years NFL Draft, in Deebo Samuel and Jalen Hurd. Throw a healthy Jimmy Garoppolo and a stable of running backs that would make most teams envious into the mix, and you have a potential recipe for success in the Bay Area.

The atmosphere in the locker room, as San Francisco enters the 2019 season, isn’t one of looking back on missed opportunities, but instead, one of a bright future.

Here we take a look at the first of a five-part series, continuing into the regular season, which will rank the top 10 players on the roster who can make that future come to fruition.
