Returner: Dana McLemore

Dana McLemore was a 10th-round pick by the 49ers in 1982. He played cornerback for the team from 1982 through 1986. His claim to fame, though, came as a kick and punt returner.

He played five seasons with the 49ers and managed to amass more return yards than any other player in the history of the franchise. No argument or debate here, even though it pained me to not list wide receiver John Taylor in this spot.

McLemore simply put up ridiculous numbers in a much shorter period of time.

Taylor had a total of 149 returns for 1,517 yards over eight years. McLemore finished with 1,531 yards on 142 returns. The proof is in the numbers.
