Strong Safety: Tim McDonald

The 49ers have had many great players at the strong safety position throughout their history.

None is greater than Tim McDonald.

With the team needing to solidify the safety position, the 49ers signed McDonald away from the Arizona Cardinals.

McDonald was a great signing and went on to make the Pro Bowl from 1993 to 1995 with the 49ers. He held his roster spot until 1999 when he retired after pulling down 20 interceptions during his time in San Francisco.
