Winner: Wide Receiver Dante Pettis

Last season, the 49ers’ lone top-notch receiving weapon was tight end George Kittle, as he rode his 1,377 receiving yards all the way to a Pro Bowl selection.

Meanwhile, then-rookie wide receiver Dante Pettis started slow, eventually finishing as a solid No. 2 choice for this accolade over the final five weeks of 2018.

That brief stretch showed Pettis can be a weapon, which is great news. More importantly, though, all those additions during the offseason (Deebo Samuel, Jalen Hurd, Jordan Matthews, etc.) serve to make Pettis’ potential impact this season even bigger.

Kittle isn’t going to take the league by storm this season, and Samuel looks to be the real deal. Their presence alone should take pressure off Pettis, leaving him in plenty of one-on-one matchups, where the talented wideout can use his exceptional footwork and separation skills to potentially rack up huge stats this season.
