With the San Francisco 49ers kicking off training camp on July 26, Niner Noise looks at 10 players you’ll want to pay attention to as they vie for roles on the 2019 roster.

The San Francisco 49ers officially start their 2019 training camp on Friday, July 26, with practices kicking off the following day.

Unlike a year ago, there isn’t quite the hype the Niners have heading towards the regular season. Head coach Kyle Shanahan’s squad isn’t coming off a five-game win streak to close out the previous year, and one might assume his team is more guarded against injuries after what transpired over the course of 2018.

But as is the case with any training camp, there are the chances for players to rise or fall up the depth chart.

And potentially off the regular-season roster altogether.

Some come with high expectations. San Francisco’s top choice from the 2019 NFL Draft, EDGE Nick Bosa, is awfully hyped after being labeled college football’s best prospect entering draft season. He has yet to sign his rookie deal, though, but his on-field efforts are going to be noteworthy.

Same goes with quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, who’ll look to bounce back from his season-ending ACL injury suffered in Week 3 last year.

Those are two obvious players to watch later this summer, of course. And one could make the argument each player on the 49ers’ 90-man offseason roster is worth watching.

For the purpose of this slideshow, however, let’s take a detailed look at 10 players who should garner a lot of attention between the end of July and the conclusion of the preseason before September.

More specifically, why you should watch them.
