Offensive Line

Lock: C Weston Richburg, G Mike Person, G Laken Tomlinson, T Mike McGlinchey, T Joe Staley

Strong Bubble: OL Ben Garland, G Ross Reynolds, T Shon Coleman

Weak Bubble: G Joshua Garnett, T Willie Beavers, C Wesley Johnson, OL Erik Magnuson, G Najee Toran, T Justin Skule

Long Shot: OL Daniel Brunskill, T Christian DiLauro

Even though the starting offensive line unit is dealing with some injuries, namely center Weston Richburg, it’s pretty safe to assume this group remains intact into the regular season.

Richburg’s injury, however, opened the door for former Atlanta Falcons interior lineman Ben Garland to see OTA snaps with the first-team unit, thereby increasing his chances to make the 53-man roster.

There is also going to be a nice training camp battle pending between one of last year’s backups, Shon Coleman, and another of the 49ers’ sixth-round NFL Draft picks, Vanderbilt’s Justin Skule, for the primary swing tackle role. Coleman was inactive for all 16 games last season, but started 16 games for the Cleveland Browns back in 2017.

Maybe that’s enough of an edge there.

One player to watch here is undrafted Iowa guard Ross Reynolds, who could easily push both Erik Magnuson and Joshua Garnett off the roster, provided the former has an excellent training camp.

Which he could easily have.
